This is an applied course in jury decision making.  We’ll collect data on multiple jury decision making studies.  We’ll evaluate methodology, discuss theses as well as published studies in the field, develop materials for studies, collect, enter, and analyze data using SPSS, and discuss presentation of findings. I’ll assign weekly readings and periodically ask one of you to lead the discussion.  You will be required to help with data collection and entry as well as library searches for approximately 6 hours per week.  Your final project will be a brief (10 page) research proposal for a study in jury decision making.  By week 11 of the semester, you will provide a powerpoint presentation where you will present your proposal to the group and receive feedback from group members.  Proposal is due the last class meeting (Dec 2).
