INFORMATION FOR PANELISTS, PRESIDERS AND ORGANIZERS
MIFLC 2001
All presiders, panelists and organizers in attendance must be registered for the conference and should wear their name badges.
Papers will begin on the hour or half hour as indicated in the program and may not be read in absentia. Presiders (or chairpersons) are asked to adhere to the schedule, even though there may be a few individuals who are unable to appear. Presiders are also asked to ensure that panelists adhere to the 20-minute limit for papers, so as to allow time for a question-answer period following each paper and for orderly movement in and out of sessions as papers begin and end.
Presiders, panelists and organizers should arrive a few minutes early to sessions in order to meet one another and to make sure that everyone scheduled to speak has arrived. This is also the last and best opportunity to make sure that all equipment needed for the session is in the room and functioning properly. Panelists should report equipment problems to the presider as soon as possible. Presiders should then report problems to the Registration Desk.
Presiders are asked to inform presenters of the opportunity for publication in the MIFLC Review (publication of the Mountain Interstate Foreign Language Conference) and to encourage submission of the papers presented.
Organizers present are asked to assist the presiders in making the sessions go smoothly.
Finally, presiders should report any no-shows to the Registration Desk immediately after the session ends.
