The purpose of the MIT is to improve educational and training programs in organizational settings, school systems, and universities through the application of research and best practices from instructional technology.


The focus will be on research and practice related to the systematic application of instructional principles through the use of various forms of instructional technology.


The program will provide a unique balance of product development and utilization of technology with theoretical basis for total design, development, implementation, and evaluation of educational and training programs.


The program covers the broad skill areas from needs assessment and task analysis to message design and systems theory.


Innovative technologies such as computers, videodiscs, multimedia, distance education and other advanced technologies for instruction will be emphasized throughout the MIT student's experience.
