Recipient of Summer Research Award ($3,000) to design & develop an online course that considers various learning styles and study the effects of the design specifications (a joined project with Dr. Murdock), summer 2004.

Recipient of Cahill Award ($2,500) for faculty research and development (a joint project with Drs. Chen and Kermani) to study the use of handheld computers in the classrooms. The project entitled “Integrating technology into classroom instruction: The effects of continuous assessment and immediate feedback on teaching and learning,” UNCW, 2002.

Recipient of Cahill Award ($2,500) for faculty research and development (a joint research project with Dr. Kermani) to study peer-tutoring vs. adult tutoring. The project entitled “Cross-age tutoring: Exploring the characteristics and process of peer-mediated learning” UNCW, 1997.

Recipient of Faculty Research and Service Award ($7,000) for a joint research project on peer-tutoring. The grant was awarded by the Watson School of Education, UNCW, 1997.

Recipient of Faculty Research and Service award ($4,000) for a project to examine the role of technology resource teachers in implementation of technology at New Hanover County public school. The grant was awarded by the Watson School of Education, 1995.
