Participated in planning meetings in North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI). During these long meetings, as a team, we reviewed and revised guidelines and directions for Technology Specialist (077) and Technology Facilitator (079) licensure degrees. Raleigh, NC, 2004.
Invited to meet and speak to a group of undergraduate students majoring in Educational Communications and Technology in School of Journalism and Communications in Shanghai International Studies University, Shanghai, China, Dec., 2003.
During my teaching in Shanghai International Studies University I was invited to visit a secondary school and an elementary auxiliary school. During my school visits I observed classroom teaching, talked with teachers and students and participated in master teachers’ reflective seminars and shared my views as an expert instructional technologist, Shanghai, China, Dec., 2003.
Invited participant in screening gala for Dr. Leutze’s documentary “Troubled Waters: The Illusion of Abundance.” Four of my students designed and developed curriculum materials for the documentary and one of my students developed the web site for the documentary. Oct., 2003.
As a member of the Women’s Resource Center, I attend meetings and gatherings that are organized by the center.

Invited participant in the official “launch” of Dr. Leutze’s documentary “Smart Growth” at Hoggard High School. Two of my students developed curriculum materials for the documentary website, April, 2002.

Participated in a three-day WSE Summer Initiative Effort. My responsibility was to lead a team of faculty members to develop strategies and proposals for improving assessment of learning, June, 2000.
Participated in a two-day meeting on Career Development Residency Project. The project explored the Career Development Residency School model to improve recruitment and long-term retention of beginning teachers. WSE, UNCW, May 30-31, 2000.
Invited participant in the UNCW and UNC-G Research Meeting. The dean of the
UNC-G School of Education and a group of faculty came to Wilmington to discuss
forming collaborative research teams around the issue of mutual interest tied
to the Professional Development System. From UNCW, I was one of the faculty
members who participated in this discussion. January 26-27, 1998.
