I am from Mount Olive, North Carolina. I graduated from the MIT Department in December of 2009. I have an extensive background in Social Work and working with Special Needs children. I first became interested in Assistive Technology after taking a Special Education Course during my undergraduate studies at UNCW. These interests led to my enrollment in the MIT Program. I graduated in December of 2009 and I was hired as an Instructional Technology Facilitator in Duplin County Schools in January of 2010. At that time there were 3 Instructional Technology Facilitators. Last April, I was promoted to Lead Instructional Technology Facilitator/District Webmaster. I teach a variety of technology workshops in my position, several of which, I developed myself. Duplin County Schools has grown tremendously in the area of technology since I accepted my position; this has been a big advantage for me in terms of keeping up with the latest ways to integrate technology into education. I really enjoy my job and I am excited about the future of technology in education.
