PSY 525: Psychological Assessment I

Course Description

The primary goal of this course is for you to become knowledgeable in the administration and interpretation of a wide range of psychological assessment tools, with an emphasis on the intellectual (WAIS-IV), achievement, and memory measures most commonly employed by psychologists. A second emphasis of the course is to review the psychometric issues that underlie any form of assessment, and to demonstrate how assessment, treatment planning, and even research go hand in hand. Because this is a two semester sequence (see PSY 526 offered in the Fall), we will discuss the specific features of report writing in each semester and also briefly examine the structured clinical interview.
