Title:  An Equation For The Limit State Of A Superconductor With Pinning Sites

Speaker
: Jianzhong Sun

Abstract:

We investigate the limit case for a Ginzburg-Landau system describing an inhomogeneous superconducting material in a bounded domain, and show that in the limit case, the system can be described by one equation, from the analysis of such equation, we prove the local minimizers of the limit case and solutions of the equation are one to one in certain sense. Structures and properties of the solutions will also be discussed.

At the beginning, a brief history of the superconductivity and the background of the problems will be given, which is accessible to students who have finished their Calculus courses.
