We are very excited about our graduate program. It has been
steadily growing and now has 31 students enrolled. We
take a personal interest in each of our students. I think you
will find our degree programs are very flexible. Each of them
- requires 30 hours of graduate work,
- has a minimum of required courses,
- has thesis and non-thesis options,
- allows students to design their own programs concentrating in
pure mathematics, applied mathematics, operations research, or
statistics.
Many of our graduates have gone on to earn a Ph.D. in mathematics,
statistics, operations research, or computer science. Community
college teaching is a popular career choice of our graduates.
Others have obtained industrial employment with professional titles
such as operations research analyst, software engineer, or statistical
programmer.
If you have a bachelor's degree or are about to obtain one in mathematics
or a related field and are interested in a master's degree in mathematics,
please consider applying to UNCW. I encourage you to contact
me by phone (910-962-3384) or email (karlof@uncw.edu)
if you have any questions about our program or about any special
circumstances you might have. I look forward to hearing from
you.
Sincerely,
John Karlof |
