    • Applications that request consideration for a teaching assistantship should be submitted by February 15 for fall admission.

  2. In-state tuition remission: An award of $500.00 or $1,000.00 each semester for students who qualify for in-state tuition at the University of North Carolina. These are generally renewable for another year.

  3. Out-of-state tuition award: These awards provide partial or full reimbursement of the out-of-state portion of the tuition for students who do not qualify for in-state tuition.  These are generally renewable for another year.

  4. New Scholar award: A scholarship of $500. or $1,000. awarded to outstanding applicants.

The above financial aids are awarded by the Department of Mathematics and Statistics to applicants to the mathematics graduate program at UNCW on a competitive basis.   Individual applicants can only apply for the assistantships themselves by checking the appropriate box on their graduate school application.   We consider all applicants for the other awards.
