To type in
Japanese (with the visual keyboard) follow these instructions:

Go
to START | CONTROL PANEL

Open
to the option “Date, Time, Language and Regional Options”

Choose “Add other language”
-
Make
sure that “Install files for East Asian languages” is checked.

If
not, then check it and click OK to the message that pops up
-
Click OK to close the Window and it will install the files (a Windows XP CD
might be needed)
-
Click DETAILS at the top of the window
-
Check to see if Japanese is listed as an “Installed Service”
-
If
not, click ADD
-
Select Japanese as the “Input Language” and be sure to choose a keyboard
layout
-
Close all programs and select Japanese by either “CTRL-Shift” or by using the
language bar in the bottom right corner of the screen.
