Note: He might have used the word なら to mean "If" なら is used with a noun in a conditional sentence structure. If so, he means "If it is Kintetsu line, it is 610 yen." There are JR line and Kintetsu Line from Kyoto to Nara. Kintetsu Line is more convenient with more trains per hour. Kintetsu Nara station is closer to major temples and shrines than JR Nara station. |

In stead of じゅう , he said とお.) 、 とっきゅうけん (express ticket)、 じょうしゃけん (train fare)、 はやい (fast) 、ふつう (regular, local) Note: If you are traveling a short distance, you buy a normal (local) fare じょうしゃけん. If you are traveling a long distance, you have to buy a normal (local) fare じょうしゃけん plus express fare とっきゅうけん. Those fare tickets may be combined into one ticket but normally you receive two separate tickets (one is for the local じょうしゃけん and the other for express とっきゅうけん). Shinkansen station is sometimes located within a train station, which means that you go into the station using the normal (local) fare ticket じょうしゃけん and then go into the Shinkansen station entrance using both normal (local) fare じょうしゃけん and express ticket とっきゅうけん by inserting the two tickets at the same time into the ticket gate machine for you to go through. When exiting a Shinkansen station, you put express ticket とっきゅうけん into the machine, and then you use the normal (local) fare じょうしゃけん to exit the station. |
