Module 5: UK National Curriculum

Goal: This module is intended to give you a chance to explore the U.K. National Curriculum.

Tasks:

1) Explore the U.K. National Curriculum at http://curriculum.qca.org.uk/

2) Write the C-POC 1 assignment. Email to the instructor. As a guide, address the following questions:

• What did you learn about the National Curriculum?
• How does the U.K. National Curriculum differ in what is being done in the U.S.?
• Point out 3 benefits of the National Curriculum?
• Point out 3 limitations of the National Curriculum?

3) Post your C-POC 1 to NING. Comment on at least 2 other postings. Look for similarities and differences between your posting and other folks' posts.

• What was different? What was the same?
• Did your thoughts / opinions of the National Curriculum conflict with others?
• Are there any points of contrast with your experiences in the U.S. compared to what you learned about the U.K. National Curriculum?
