Liability Insurance

 

Beginning Fall semester, 2006, liability insurance will be required for every UNCW student enrolled in an internship or practicum hours.  Students enrolled for these hours will be billed directly for the insurance coverage by Student Accounts.  The exact amount is still being determined, but the charge will be between $15 and $20.  The billing will be handled in exactly the same manner as charges for parking fines, library fines, etc.  Please help spread the word to your students that this charge will show up shortly after the census date for the semester (after the first 10 days of class).  Should a student need to withdraw from an internship or practicum after this date, no reimbursement for the insurance charge will be possible.
