Projects

Format of all written work:

These will be reports which are typed with double-spacing and 12 pt font. You will be expected to use correct English grammar and punctuation. All equations should be numbered similar to the style in your book. Do not just list the answers, but put everything into proper sentence and paragraph form. The length of your report depends upon any supporting material and what it takes to explain what you have done and the results you have found. This is not a homework assignment, so listing only exercises and answers does not constitute a written report. Pretend that you are submitting a report to your supervisor. The Project component counts 10% of your final grade.

Project #1

This is your first project. Due Feb 13.

You will work in groups of no more than three people on the Extended Application on page 528 of the text. You will divide up the work and report your findings in a typed report.

  1. Groups will need to be selected by February 2nd at the latest.
  2. A progress report will be due on February 6th. It will report what progress and results had been obtained to date and the group organization. It will be graded based upon neatness, content and marked progress towards completion of the project. This will count 10 pts.
  3. The final report will be due February 13th. This will count 20 pts.

Project #2

This is your second project. Due Mar 3.

You will work in groups of  two to three people on the Extended Application on page 573 of the text. You will divide up the work and report your findings in a typed report following the same general directions as for Project #1. Make sure you follow the format this time, or there will be additional points taken off for not following directions. There will only be one report this time worth 30 points total.

Project #3

This is your last project. Due April 10.

You will work in groups of  two to three people on the Extended Application on page 611 of the text. You will divide up the work and report your findings in a typed report following the same general directions as for the previous projects. Again, make sure you follow the format. There will only be one report worth 30 points total.
