Dr. Russell L. Herman,
is Professor and Chair of Physics and Physical Oceanography and Professor of Mathematics and Statistics at UNCW. He is Editor-in-Chief of The Journal of Effective Teaching (for the Center for Teaching Excellence) and has been honored with several teaching awards.
His interests include topics in nonlinear evolution equations, soliton perturbation theory, fluid dynamics, relativity, quantum mechanics, chaos and dynamical systems, signal analysis and investigations into instructional uses of technology in mathematics and science.
