Dr. Lathardus Goggins II has been an advocate for youth and education for more than twenty years. Dr. Goggins has worked with "at-risk" youth as a Prevention Specialist and has worked more than 17 years in Higher Education. Dr. Goggins has held positions where he recruited and advised minority students and outreached to minority communities; directed an Upward Bound program, where he developed, implemented and assessed services that prepared "first generation" students for college; directed a Black history gallery, and developed, implemented and assessed cultural programming; and, as an Associate Dean for Multicultural Affairs, where he set policy, developed programming, and assess the institution regarding diversity, multiculturalism and civility. Currently, Dr. Goggins is an Assistant Professor jointly appointed to Educational Leadership and the School of Social Work at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
