Readings:
The readings are listed beneath each topic below. Some of the readigns
are long and other are .pdf documents. If you can't read the pdfs, you
should download the free
Adobe Acrobat reader.
- Leadership Project and Related
Literature (week 2): Key Question: What is Teacher Leadership and how
do I become a Teacher Leader?
- No Child Left Behind and Highly
qualified Teachers (week 3-4). Key Question: How can teachers become
leaders of national reform movements (which are about a lot more than
reading per se)?
- Professional Guidelines of Subject
Area Teachers (week 5-6)

Each week, each students will read
the materials listed for each of the above topic (found
on the Readings page) and then write an email journal response to
the materials. The email should be sent to the instructor, as well as
the other students. Also, the email should include a second section asking
any questions about the course requirements or materials.
In addition, every third week, each
student will meet with me individually to discuss the Leadership Project
and the Portfolio. These meetings should last 30 minutes and will be scheduled
for our mutual convenience. We will meet as a group during the last week
of classes in order to present work and to do paperwork.
