Andrew received is B.A. in Psychology from Elon University in 2010 and is now a first year graduate student at UNCW, working with Dr. Galizio. His general research interests are in behavioral neuroscience and he is particularly interested in the development and use of animal models in psychological research. He is currently working on projects investigating the effects of psychoactive drugs on behavioral models of working memory, using the olfactory span procedure. He is also testing in the olfactometer, training rats on a Non-Match-to-Sample procedure using olfactory stimuli. In the coming year he will begin working on his Master's thesis project, likely investigating the effects of a group of drugs (perhaps "club" drugs or prescription drugs acting on the DA and/or 5-HT systems) on working memory tasks/delayed stimulus control.
