Dave graduated from the Psychology Masters program in 2008 with a concentration in clinical substance abuse treatment psychology (SATP). His masters thesis work evaluated the effects of an NMDA receptor antagonist (dizocilpine) and an opiate (morphine) on the performance of rats in a repeated acquisition/performance (RAP) adaptation of the odor span task developed by Dudchenko, Wood and Eichenbaum (2000), known as the olfactory memory span task. Dave is currently completing his clinical internship at the Johns Hopkins center for learning and health (CLH). At the CL, Dave is involved with the implementation and evaluation of a contingency management treatment for substance abuse (SA). Participants in the are program are provided paid skills training contingent upon drug abstinence and/or adherence to a medication regimen (e.g. naltrexone). In the future, Dave hopes to receive licensure as a psychological associate (LPA) and as a clinical addictions specialist (LCAS) and pursue a doctoral degree in psychology. His interests include behavioral pharmacology, learning and memory, neuroscience, evidenced based mental health and substance abuse treatment, and unnecessary abbreviations (abbrev's). Dave also brews his own beer and makes a killer mix music cd.
