So if the flattening of the world is largely (but not
entirely) unstoppable, and holds out the potential to be as beneficial
to American society as a whole as past market evolutions have been, how
does an individual get the best out of it? What do we tell our kids?
There is only one message: You constantly have to upgrade your skills
(Freidman, The World is Flat,
2005, p. 237).

"When I despair, I remember that all
through history the ways of truth and love have always won. There have been
tyrants and murderers and for a time they can seem invincible, but in the
end they always fall. Think of it, always."
