About
This Course:
Provides conceptual tools and analytic skills essential to planning,
implementing, and evaluating instruction. The design of instruction
that incorporates behavioral, cognitive, and constructivist theories
of learning and views of curriculum will be considered. Topics include:
types of learning; conditions of learning; performance objectives;
purposes, forms, and procedures for educational assessment; task analysis,
and lesson design.
Rationale:
The Watson School of Education is dedicated to preparing quality teachers
who are proficient in decision making and reflecting upon teaching
and learning. This course as a part of the core set of courses for
K-12 teachers is designed to foster this growth through class discussions,
readings, and projects.
