We have seen in other tutorials how to change the color of our slide background. In this tutorial we will see how to create backgrounds that have Pictures and Textures
1. Go up and click once on the Format Menu, move the mouse down the menu and click once on Background. (If background is not one of your choices, then double click on the Format menu and all the items in the format menu will appear.
2. Click once on the pull down menu below the background image.
Background Types3. From the pull down menu, click once on Fill Effects.
4. We have four choices. Gradient of color, which allows us to have two colors that will mix on our screen.
I first click two colors then I could choose my colors on the right.
5. Next I choose my shading styles from the lower left by clicking on each of the circles.
Notice that the sample always changes with each new choice.
6. Lastly I can choose which way the colors will meet with the four Variants choices.


7. The Texture Tab at the Top will allow us to place a texture as our background.
I choose the texture I want by simply clicking on it once, you can again see the selected texture in the lower right sample menu.
8. The patterns tab allows you to place colored patterns as your background.
I choose the pattern I want by simply clicking on it once, you can again see the selected pattern in the lower right sample menu.
You can then change the color of the pattern.
The last tab is for a picture background.
9. Click once on Select Picture.
Browse your way through your hard drive or diskette until you find the picture you want to use as your background.
Click once on the picture and then click insert.
You will see a sample of what you background will look like.


No matter what your choice of color or texture. Click the OK button in the upper right. You will now decide if you want to apply this background to just this slide or all slides, including those yet to be created.
