Jenny McDaniel
A bit of info about me:
In May of 1999, I graduated with a BS in marine biology from University of North Carolina at Wilmington. It was at this time that I met Dr. Steve Emslie who was in need of a graduate student to become involved in his research on abandoned penguin colonies in Antarctica. In the fall of 1999, I enrolled in the marine biology master's program at UNCW and began working with Dr. Emslie. Since then, I have had the opportunity to travel to Antarctica to collect samples for my project and to Australia to present preliminary results at the Southern Hemisphere Ornithological Congress. I am currently at the midpoint of my master's degree. During the first year and a half, I have had many wonderful and enriching experiences and I look forward to the rest of my time here at UNCW. I would like to take this opportunity to extend my gratitude and appreciation to my advisor Dr. Steve Emslie, and my graduate committee Dr. Ann Pabst and Dr. Ileana Clavijo, as well as friends and family for all of the support and encouragement they have provided.
