Indian Walk-In Mine

General Location: SW1/4 NW1/4 SW1/4 sec. 36 T. 89 N., R. 2 E.

Description: This was one of the finest examples of the very earliest mines in the area and more than likely on of Julian Dubuque's 'Mines of Spain.' Subdivision construction circa 1990 has probably covered the mine site. This is the very first mine that I ever entered doing so with my dad when I was 6 years old. The red earth on the old dump contained fine examples of galena cog ore.
