- What are the differences between gods and humans? What are the similarities?
- The Greeks believed in many different gods (polytheism), but in some of there thought there seems to be an element of monotheism (i.e. belief in a single supreme god). How can these elements coexist? Is Greek monotheism anything like the monotheism of our own society?
- What relationship between humans, fate and the gods appears in stories such as Herodotus' tale of Croesus? Is this a hopeful or nihilistic view?
