Hic, haec, hoc exercise

Put the correct form of hic, haec, hoc into the blank and be ready to translate the sentence.  Step 1: determine which word hic etc, modifies.  Step 2: determine the case of that word.  Step 3: insert the matching case of hic, haec, hoc.  (Note: the 1,2,3 might seem ridiculously obvious to some, but for someone who hasn’t seen this stuff for a while or is approahcing it for the first time, it can help, so I put it in.)
