Examinatio Prima Review
The exam will consist of the following parts:
I. Vocabulary:
This will contain two sections.
simple equivalents from all vocabularies studied this semester (review vocabularies from early in the course, Auricula 1-2, and the vocabularies from Wheelock 13-17).
dictionary form exercise from the Wheelock chapters (13-17) in which you will have 7 words underlined from a reading passage and be able to omit 2. (You can actually do them all if time allows; I will omit the ones that lose you the most points and give you extra credit for anything answered correctly.)
2. Forms:
You should be prepared to give the forms of (i.e. fill out a paradigm of):
Adjectives and pronouns:
any first & second orthird declension adjective
qui, quae, quod
Verbs:
present, imperfect, or future of all verbs (dictionary form will be given)
You will have one section of each of:
filling out a paradigm
changing forms from one thing to the other (e.g. nominatives to accusatives, presents to futures)
3. Gender, Number, Case
You should be able to identify gender, number and case of words underlined in a passage.
4. Multiple choice:
3-4 multiple choice questions that cover knowledge of relative pronoun, numbers, adjective agreement, etc.
5. Translation: there will be two parts to this:
translating a connected passage using vocabulary and grammar studied so far (this will be the same passage used for vocabulary and GNC)
Translating a few lines or adapted lines from one of the passages we have already studied this semester
