Research Interests
(Curriculum Vita)
I have always been interested in the dynamics of how individuals
learn and have observed and examined teaching and learning in a variety of
contexts. Most recently, I have been intrigued (and challenged) by the impact of
interactive technologies on classroom communication and learning; see my article published
in Communication Education which examines communication and learning in an
interactive distance learning classroom (two way simultaneous audio and video).
Currently, I am examining communication and collaborative learning in Internet courses.

Personal Background and Hobbies
I grew up in South Louisiana in Lafayette (the heart of "Acadiana") where we live by the philosophy of "laissez les bons temps rouler" (let the good times roll). We are affectionately referred to as "cajuns" and the rumors are true: the food is spicy and delicious, the music is great and everyone dances!!
In addition to dancing, I enjoy most outdoor activities: camping,
biking, hiking, and sailing. While the ocean is beautiful and peaceful (except during
hurricanes) here on the Eastern coast, I also enjoy the forest and mountains for exploring
and camping.
