Graduate school admission is increasingly competitive. Research skills give you a decisive edge. One of the most important and least available research skills in psychology is the ability to program computers. Computer programming in psychology is used for data analysis, programing experimental procedures, computer modeling of behavior, computational neuroscience, and so on. The Scientific Computing seminar will teach you basic programming skills centered around the needs of psychologists and neuroscientists.
