Cognitive and Perceptual Processes Associated with Clinical Disorders 

One of the mottos of the CCPL is, "If you look carefully at any situation, you will find the influence of perception."   Here at the CCPL we have teamed up with clinicians to assess the influence of perceptual processes on the creation and maintenance of clinical disorders.  We have studied these effects in people with anger disorders.  Currently we collaborate with Dr. Len Lecci to study these effects in those with hypochondriacal tendencies (i.e., people who feel especially vulnerable to illness).  This research has had far reaching impact.  We are collaborating with scientists in Europe and we were recently asked to brief the US House of Representatives Committee on Science and Technology on this work.
