Rock for a Cure 2017 -- Oct. 13 -- Reel Cafe -- 6:00 pm

Rock for a Cure is a breast cancer benefit that was established in October 2007 by the UNCW Communication Studies Society student organization.  The purpose of the event is to raise awareness of breast cancer and to raise funds for the New Hanover Regional Medical Center Foundation’s Pink Ribbon Project.  Since the event’s inception, Rock for a Cure has raised more than $46,000 to assist local women with mammography screenings and care bags for women who are undergoing cancer treatments.  Last year’s event featured UNCW senior Jessi Sykes opening for faculty rock band The Schoolboys. We are proud to announce that we raised more than $6500 in 2016, setting a new record! Thank you to everyone who helped make our event another success, and we hope to see you again this year!
