Rock for a Cure 2017 -- Oct. 13 -- Reel Cafe -- 6:00 pm

Rock for a Cure is a breast cancer benefit that was established in October 2007 by the UNCW Communication Studies Society student organization.  The purpose of the event is to raise awareness of breast cancer and to raise funds for the New Hanover Regional Medical Center Foundation’s Pink Ribbon Project.  Since the event’s inception, Rock for a Cure has raised more than $52,000 to assist local women with mammography screenings and care bags for women who are undergoing cancer treatments.  This year’s event featured UNCW alumna Jessi Sykes opening for faculty rock band The Schoolboys. We are proud to announce that we raised $6132.55 in 2017. Thank you to everyone who helped make our event another success!
