On the days listed below, the class discussion will be student-led.  Each of you will be in a group of three students assigned to lead one of these discussions.  Your group will be responsible for getting the discussion started, keeping the class on topic and under control.  Be creative, ask provocative questions, tackle controversial issues, play devil's advocate! 

Your grade for this effort will be based on your in-class organization, performance and handout, and your individual report. 

The handout must be a typed description of your plan for class.  This is a handout made by your whole group, due on the day of your discussion, that includes:

• Topic/Date
• Names of group members
• Key points to address in class
• Bibliography of resources that helped you prepare. 
• - you should have a copy of the handout for the class (I can run copies if you send before class)

Note- as a leader, you do not have to write a response to turn in that day :-), but you will include comments in your....

"1 typed page" individual report, due on the next class day after your discussion, will include the following elements:

• Your reaction to the readings themselves--- content, validity, etc.
• What you learned from the experience, for example, working with your group.
• How you and your group members prepared for the discussion - who was in charge of what?
• How you think the class discussion went and how you would change the experience if you could repeat it.
