4 Hour Field Experience Description

Lifelong Physical Education Programming: Dance and Gymnastics

Objectives:

¥ Describe the students, the environment, the activities, and the learning taking place in a dance/gymnastics class

¥ Record observations of the classroom , and of class activities with comments on what went well and what you would have done differently

¥ Demonstrate understanding of stages of growth and development of school - age children

Type of Participation:

¥ Observing and evaluating a physical education teacher(s) in a gymnastics/dance class at different grade levels with different teachers

¥ Generate a summary and analysis of the students, learning environment, and learning outcomes in a dance/gymnastics class based on the National Association for Sport and Physical Education Guidelines for Developmentally Appropriate Practices in the Physical Education Classroom
