BIO 205. Plant Biology (4) Prerequisite: BIO 110, EVS 195, or consent of instructor. Ecological and evolutionary principles emphasized in a phylogenetic survey of both vascular and non-vascular plant groups. Morphology and physiology of seed plants, stressing principles of adaptation and relationship with biotic and a biotic components of ecosystems. Three lecture and three laboratory hours each week.

BIO 471. (571) Phytoplankton (4) Prerequisite: BIO 205, junior status or consent of instructor. Introduction to the biology of freshwater and marine micro algae. Focus on morphology, life histories, physiology,systematics and ecology. Three lecture and three laboratory hours each week
