Textual Elements
Textual elements include the visual qualities of the
typeface itself: the shape of its design and the possible variations
within this basic shape--size italics, upper case, shadow, etc.
Every time you read a line of text--in a textbook, a newspaper, a TV
schedule, or a letter (or on the web)--you're absorbing the visual
language of type (see 130-131). (think of: weight, form, structure,
size, direction NDB)
