Real-Time Digital Video and Audio Signal Processing
A Development Environment for Rapid Prototyping

Dr. Gur Saran Adhar
adharg@uncwil.edu

Project Description: Digital Signal Processors (DSPs) are found in a wide range of applications such as in communications, servo and motor control, speech and video processing. Today, Digital Signal Processors (DSPs) are embedded in Microscopes, ECG (electro cardiogram) monitors, Fax machines, modems, cellular phones, mobile radio systems, MPEG recording and playback, High Definition Television (HDTV), digital answering machines, feature phones, and digital cameras to name just a few.

Development Environment within Computer Science Department provides hardware and software resources for design and implementation of real-time signal processing applications.

Development System: The digital signal processing (DSP) Imaging Developer's system is a complete development environment for rapid prototyping of advanced video and imaging systems based on the TMS320C6000 DSP (link to data sheet) platform. The processor provides real-time programmable performance to support video and imaging for high bandwidth streaming video and real-time image processing.
