 Designed to inform students of theory and research that has influenced the development of principles and strategies for promoting emergent literacy. Developmentally appropriate literacy activities will be explored along with ways to use individual assessments to gauge children's current abilities and to use and build upon what children bring to oral language, reading, and writing. The role of supportive adults, print-rich environments and principles of multicultural learning will be investigated. | |
